Baby Shower Games (Free Printable Set)

A baby shower needs games that are easy to explain, gentle on guests who have never met, and finished before the cake gets warm. These printable games fit that brief, and you can add the parents' names in a few seconds.

A simple plan for the afternoon

Start with baby shower bingo. Hand the cards to guests as they arrive. While the parents-to-be open gifts, guests mark off words like blanket, bottle and bib, and the quietest corner of the room starts chatting about presents.

Put a baby word search or word scramble on each table as a warm-up. Guests who arrive early have something to do instead of standing by the snack table, and a table can work on it together.

Keep prizes small: a candle, a pack of tea or a plant. A prize for each game is plenty.

Hosting tips

Print a few more cards than the guest list. Someone always brings a plus one or spills coffee on a card. The bingo card generator can make up to 30 unique cards, and its caller checklist shows you what was called.

If the parents-to-be would rather not have gift-based games, swap the list for a baby animals or nursery rhymes theme. You can change every word.

Check out the shower pages for bridal showers too, since many of the ideas carry across.

Before the guests arrive

Do a dry run with the host. Read the bingo list aloud and cross out anything the parents-to-be have already received, or anything that would feel awkward in front of their families. Five minutes of editing makes the game feel made for this shower.

Pencils are easy to forget. Put a cup of them on every table, and tuck a few spares in your bag along with a roll of tape for the sign-in sheet.

FAQ

How many baby shower games should I plan?

Two or three is usually enough. Guests also want time to talk and eat, so a short game that runs alongside gift opening works best.

Can I put the baby's name or due date on the sheets?

Yes. Change the title in the generator and it is printed on every page.
